PAX A920 Pro

The PAX A920 Pro is a hybrid tabletop and handheld payment terminal for use with the Finix API. It uses Wi-Fi or 4G LTE to connect with the internet.

Powering On

The PAX A920 Pro terminal comes with a power cable and a power adapter for charging.

Once charged, to setup the PAX A920 Pro terminal:

  1. Turn on the terminal and swipe up from the bottom screen.
  2. Tap the back key twice.
  3. When prompted for a Back Desktop password type pax9876@@ > tap enter .

Once the device is powered on, you'll need to connect the terminal to a Wi-Fi network download updates and information necessary to process payments.

Wi-Fi

To connect the terminal to your Wi-Fi network, after completing the steps above:

  1. Tap Settings .
  2. When prompted for a Password type pax9876@@ > tap the checkmark.
  3. Tap Network & Internet > Wi-Fi .
  4. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network and enter your network's password.
  5. Tap Connect .
  6. Touch the home button to return to the Android Desktop.

Once initial setup is complete, your terminal is ready to get setup with Finix.

Connect to Finix

Use the Device resource to connect the terminal to your Finix account: Create a Device

Tap DCDirect on the PAX terminal for information specific to the terminal including:

  • PAX Model Number
  • Serial Number (Also called DeviceID )
  • Connected IP Address

Once connected, setup your terminal with Finix using the Device resource: Create a Device

Setup

Place the PAX A920 Pro terminal where you'll use it to process the majority of payments.

To set up the PAX A920 Pro, you'll need:

  • A Wi-Fi network and router.
  • The Wi-Fi network's name and password.
  • Physical access to the payment terminal being activated.

Step 1: Access the Android Desktop

When you first boot up the PAX A920 Pro:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
  2. Touch the back key twice.
  3. When prompted for a Back Desktop password type pax9876@@ > Enter .
    • 123456 can also work - passwords on some terminals can vary.

Step 2: Connect to Wi-Fi

To connect the PAX A920 Pro to Wi-Fi:

  1. From the Android Desktop, tap Settings .
  2. When prompted for a password type pax9876@@ > Enter .
    • 123456 can also work - passwords on some terminals can vary.
  3. Tap Network & Internet > Wi-Fi .
  4. Tap the name of your Wi-Fi network.
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi password > Connect .
  6. Touch the home button to return to the Android Desktop.

Internet

The PAX A920 Pro payment terminal can connect to the internet using:

  • a Wi-Fi network
  • 4G LTE

We strongly recommend using a Wi-Fi network to connect the PAX A920 Pro to the internet.
